I visit myself almost daily in my final moments to have a conversation about today.
When I put myself in that situation and look at today from the perspective of me counting my final hours - it's hard to feel anything but gratitude for where I am and for all the possibilities that lay before me.
Try looking back to some of your dearest memories, or any memory for that matter. It's hard to invoke frustration or anger, or negative emotions. What would you give to go back for an hour?
Now, imagine that you are lying in your hospital bed, and you have just travelled to this very moment. And you have the chance to do whatever you want with this precious day or hour...
Do you feel frustration over work? Over the deadlines to make rich people richer? Or your boss, who has no idea what you're worth?
Or do you take a deep breath, and take in the sun (or rain), enjoy the walk in your 'old' neighbourhood, the smell of your kitchen, the laughter of your kids; how healthy you feel and how great you look?
One day, today will be just a distant memory that you will give everything you have just to go back to.
So then - realise - you are a time traveller too! Enjoy today, for tomorrow never comes.
