When I first started to attend networking events, as a designer, I would aim for NON-DESIGNER events. When I would attend NodeJS or Python meetup / conference - I could find people to potentially partner up with or help them solve their product problems (because I knew they have them).

As a freelancer, you are your own boss and responsible for finding your clients. This is where networking comes into play. It is a way for you to connect with other professionals in your industry and build relationships that can lead to future work opportunities.

My one good tip for networking events is to listen more than you speak. Many people attend networking events to promote themselves and their services, but they forget that networking is a two-way street. When you take the time to listen to others, you can learn about their needs and challenges. You may also find ways to collaborate or offer solutions to their problems.

Networking is not just about handing out business cards or making a quick pitch. It is about building meaningful relationships and establishing trust with others. When you show genuine interest in others and their work, you create a foundation for a lasting professional relationship.

I made this with Midejourney :)
