Time! The great illusion. We love to think of it as this concrete thing, don't we? "It's Monday" or "It's the start of a new year" - as if those things actually mean something...
We're all living in a dream.
It's not a bad one, though. It just means that we're not awake yet. And when we're not awake yet, we can't see reality for what it really is: time is just a concept. It's a way for us to measure the passing of events and moments. It's not like the earth is actually "making a trip around the sun." That's just a fancy way of saying that the earth is orbiting the sun, and it's that orbit that gives us the perception of a year passing.
Actually, every single moment marks a year around the sun because there was no definitive starting point and because time never stops.
So when we say things like "It's Monday" or "It's the start of a new year," we're just giving those moments special labels. But they don't mean anything in and of themselves. They're just moments, like any other.
Therefore, just because today is a Monday, or it's the start of a new year, doesn't mean we "have to" try to be better or happier. We can choose to live in the present moment and make the most of it. We don't need a special occasion for that. We can do it anytime, because time is always now.
So let's stop pretending like time is this big, important thing. Make a decision to be happy in every moment - and try to live our best lives every single day.
Love. T. 🔥🤘
